Thomas is seeking a Mail Services Coordinator for 20-25 hours per week. The Coordinator oversees and participates in the successful daily operation of all mailroom functions. She/he is the in-house expert on mailroom best practices and is the liaison between the United States Postal Service and campus vendors including, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and W.B. Mason. This position maintains the postage meter and fax machine, orders and inventories supplies, administers the business reply and postage due accounts with the US Postal Service, and ensures ergonomic safety in the handling and processing of all packages.

The Mail Services Coordinator must have superior people, public relations, customer service and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of the campus, its departments, area recreational activities, services, and shopping centers. He/she regularly trains work study students in all mailroom skills and duties.

An Associate’s degree is preferred along with Knowledge of current USPS rules and regulations.  A minimum of two years related office experience is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Data entry experience and a working knowledge of database systems
  • Ability to organize many projects and handle detail with accuracy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Discretion and diplomacy with ability to handle sensitive, confidential matters
  • Ability to work well with a high energy staff and multi-task efficiently
  • Efficient and organized oversight of data and mail processing
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Ability to manipulate data in Microsoft Word and working knowledge of Excel
