The Boys & Girls Club and YMCA at the Alfond Youth & Community Center is looking for an Assistant Teen Program Coordinator to work directly with our teen programs. The candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, directing, and supervising a complete and diversified educational, social, and recreational program and activities for teen members age 13-18 and young adult members and staff ages 19-24 year in accordance with the mission of the Alfond Youth and Community Center and State of Maine Licensing regulations.

Must have a BA or BS in Child Development or related field is preferred, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in childcare, teen programming, group social work, recreational field, social education field, or outdoor/camp programs. Ability to encourage confidence, trust, and respect from the members, staff, and public within the mission of the Alfond Youth & Community Center. Must have excellent communication skills along with the understanding of teens, have current CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to become certified.

We offer a competitive benefit package that includes free childcare and full membership to the AYCC.  The starting pay will be $15.50 per hour.

Candidates must be able to pass an extensive fingerprinting background screen though the State of Maine, Federal Government and Department of Health and Human Services.
