The Maine State Chamber of Commerce invites you to a special event Federal Health Care Reform:
The Continuing Evolution of Health Care; the ACA in 2015.

After nearly 5 years of being law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) has significantly altered the landscape of healthcare insurance and delivery in this country. Despite repeated attempts to change the original enacting legislation in Washington, the ACA isn't going
away anytime soon. This provocative law remains just that - national law. As we enter 2016, once again a number of critical programmatic milestones are scheduled to be triggered, - the implementation of the so called "Cadillac tax" on high value health plans offered by businesses, significant reporting and record keeping requirements for employers, and perhaps changes that could impact the ability and willingness of employers to offer wellness programs to their employees - just to name a few. But just how are these integral parts of the ACA going to affect employers and their employees? What do affected employers of all sizes need to know about in order to make informed decisions for themselves and their employees?

Like the other years in the life of the ACA, 2016 is a critical year, both in Maine and nationally, for Maine businesses and individual citizens. Recently, there has been some minor movement in the political logjam created by the ACA's passage, and some legislative clarifications have become
law. But what about some of the other major policy discrepancies? In the final year of this Congress, after so many other years of inaction, will this Congress and the Obama Administration finally come to an agreement on how best to fix the problems with the act, or will politics once again win out? What do businesses need to know now; what should they be doing now to meet the coming changes and requirements of the ACA and what are the next steps?

Please join the Maine State Chamber of Commerce for an informative and timely presentation on the status of the national health care reform law, and what you as a business in Maine need to know as we head into 2016. We will be joined by a panel of experts, local and national, who will provide you with the most up-to-date information on what the future may hold for your business and your employees. You won't want to miss it!
