Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta is a fun-packed series events during the first two weekends (including Columbus Day) in October.

The Mission of the "Damariscotta Pumpkinfest" is to promote education to citizens of all ages regarding the specific agricultural science required to grow pumpkins, and to provide local non-profit organizations with opportunities for dissemination of information on their activities and fundraising.

Each year, local Maine artists more then meet the challenge of decorating sixty to seventy Atlantic Giant Pumpkins which are displayed in downtown Damariscotta & Newcastle during Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta™. The results are extraordinary and bring thousands of viewers from New England and beyond. Energetic and creative Maine artists are again sought this year to transform the new crop of giant pumpkins into whimsical, fabulous works of art.
